Quilled paper rose picture frame

I bought some plain blue second hand Ikea 8x10inch photo frames from a thrift store and decided to make them more beautiful.  Here's the finished result.

I am really interested in ways to display the Word or encouraging snippets.  This is from the hymn Rock of Ages, which I've really enjoyed lately.  It was surprisingly easy to write up with my trusty Noodler flex pen.  My handwriting was helped a lot by the paper I wrote on which had ruled lines as a pattern.  I copied a Kunstler and Edwardian font script for the capital letters.

The edges are quilled paper roses which are really easy to make.  I used 1cm thick strips in 3 colours.  I added the swirls using 3mm strips and leaves from the 1cm thick strips.

This is now sitting a top my piano, it would be easy to write up something new to keep it fresh.
