30th Anniversary Card

Wanted to put together something for my parents wedding anniversary.  Inspired by kixinlife's work centred around three felt/material flowers (with great tutorials) here is the finished result.

I chose reds and pearly cream for colour; thirty years is pearl traditionally and you can't go wrong with red for anniversaries.  I sewed on some pearl beads and added quilled motifs to finish the flowers.

The title for the card was hand cut from paper using the font Kunstler with ribbon sewed on that has been bunched while sewing through.  The text is presented on a paper doily for intricacy and I like how the red material shows through it.

I used cardboard between the front and back for extra support and sewed a lot of elements on to the cardboard (buttons/flowers, pearls).

Inside I added 2 Corinthians 13:14 and decorated with quilling, pearls and a simple flower piece.

My handwriting is getting better.  I use a Noodler's flex pen with lots of tissue paper to avoid inky fingers.. still couldn't help a little smudge though.  Smudges just give it that "Made-for-mummy" kind of feel though don't you think?

Hope you liked it!
